Welcome to Stowmarket Caravans touring caravan hire. Due to popular demand we have extended our fleet of touring caravans for hire from 6 to 8 touring caravans for hire. Touring caravan hire is priced per week but we are flexible and will arrange shorter or longer hire periods subject to availability. The prices are as follows:

- Number plate: £12.50 to buy
- Delivery to site: £1.50 per mile (please call for more information)

Swift Challenger 490SE 1999
The Swift Challenger 490SE 1999 is a 5 berth family caravan. The front dining area can be built into a double bed and the rear L shaped living room can also be built into a double bed and has a folding bunk that folds out over the bed. There is a sliding door at the back too which can be shut off in the evenings.

ABI Sprinter 400 1996
The ABI Sprinter 400 is a lovely little compact caravan ideal for a couple of a small family. The front dining area builds into a double bed and the side rear dining area also makes a double bed. The washroom in the corner is an all in one wet room with a cassette toilet and a shower. This caravan is very light weight and can be towed being MOST vehicles. Please call for car tow checks.

Hire terms:
The caravans:
The self-tow caravans are 14ft - 17ft, 4 or 5 berth with one curtain dividing the sleeping compartments. All caravans are hired with the following equipment; teapot, kettle, hitchlock (which must be fitted while not towing), wing mirrors, leg stand pads, step, fresh and waste water containers, spare wheel, leg handle, mains adapter plug and mains lead and a battery.
Please note there are no personal items such as bed linen, cutlery and crockery, saucepans etc. supplied with any of our hire caravans so please bring your own.
The hire:
Usually caravans are hired on a weekly basis with the caravan being collected from our premises after 12 noon on a Saturday and being returned to the premises by 10am the following Saturday. However alternative arrangements can be made if neccesary. A deposit of £30 per week with a signed booking form is required to confirm the hire, Subject to availability. An invoice will be sent to you stating the balance which is to be paid one month before commencement of hire. When collecting the caravan please bring with you two forms of identification i.e photocard driving license and utility bill.
Cancellations:
In the event of a cancellation more than four weeks prior to the commencement of hire, your deposit will be returned if we are able to re-let the caravan. Cancellations occuring during the last four weeks prior are subject to total hire charges unless we are able to re-let the caravan.
Delivery and collection:
Hires normally collect the caravans from our site here at Stowmarket Caravans, but in some cases delivery and collection can be arranged in the local area. Charges are given on request.
Number plates:
Caravans require a number plate fitted to the rear of the hire caravan whilst towing. Number plates are available upon request. If you have your own please use it, if not, please bring photocard driving license and the logbook for the car (V5) both with the same name and address and we will make you one for the charge of £12.50.
Insurance:
You must check with or advise you car insurance company that you intend to tow a caravan, this is because whilst the caravan is attached to your car it should be covered by your own car insurance. Otherwise we insure the caravan, except for the first £50 of any claim which is to be paid by you in the event of a claim being raised. In the event of serious damage to the caravan you must advise us as soon as possible as this may effect subsequent hire. You are also required to obtain full details of the incedent and those involved. The hirer should NOT lend or hire the caravan to a third party nor allow a learner driver to be in control whilst towing. (Any uninsured damage will be charged i.e internal and deliberate damage etc.)
Continental insurance:
For continental hire we require full use of the AA, RAC or Caravan Club services. There is an extra charge for continental insurance for any caravans being taken abroad. Quotes are available upon request.
Liability:
We cannot accept liability for any third party claims, accidental damage to your party, property or for any relative expenses incurred for any reasons, except claims covered by the insurance policy on each caravan.
Towbar, lighting and legal requirements:
A towbar of adequate strength and construction must be fitted to your car. Also a seven pin lighting socket, which must be mounted and correctly wired before collection of the caravan. A minimum of one external wing mirror is required by law, however two are supplied with the caravan and must be fitted whilst towing. The maximum towing speed limit in the UK is 60mph and caravans are not allowed in the fast lane of the motorways.
No pets are permitted in the hire caravans
No smoking is allowed in the hire caravans
